On August 25, 2017 Hurricane Harvey strengthened to a category 4 hurricane and made landfall on the middle coast of Texas.  Over the next three days, the Houston metropolitan area and beyond were pummeled with record-breaking rainfall and over 130 mph winds.  To-date, the Houston area has accumulated over 50 inches of rain and is dealing with severe flood rescue.  Next Step is blessed to have many strong church partners in the Houston area and is working hard to support where we can.  Next Step is not an emergency response organization, however we have found a great fit as a ministry that comes alongside communities after the initial relief, to assist in the long-term rebuilding efforts for families that are still in critical need and might not have access to other assistance.
